Oftentimes I jot down my thoughts.
Most the time it’s in fragmented sentences.
A word here and there to remind me of something I want to come back to.
Once in a while, I’ll write out whole thoughts; well thought out, not always well-crafted, and in full sentences.
Somethings to note/remember:
- These thoughts/musings/entries were written over 5 years ago.
- Many of them are from my Notes app and thus incorrectly dated with more recent dates because at some point they were opened up and edited. I go back once in a while and fix grammatical errors. That right there lets you know some may be even 8-9 years old.
- Some are accurately dated as my age is the telltale sign of dating accuracy- ex., the first one I share is written the day after my 33rd birthday and says as much within the entry. So there, we know the date is accurate.
- I struggled with an ED (eating disorder) after the birth of my second child. It was something I didn’t share with anyone except my therapist. My husband didn’t find out until a couple years ago… and I’ll be honest, it’s likely my family will find out about it whilst reading these posts. That was 9 years ago. I sought the help I needed and have overcome it with lots of help and support from my therapist and a phenomenal Registered Dietician who is a PhD in Dietetics & specializes in EDs.
- I change ALL proper names and relationship labels for privacy. I will even alter some details to avoid any chance of making connections.
- Parts of my religious exodus is going to be shared along the way. However, as you’ll see it’s a journey and not something that happened overnight.
- I’ll likely add more to this list as I upload further entries.
I hope that in sharing these you will see our common humanity, remember that you never know what anyone is going through, and when in doubt: above all else, compassion should be exercised when interacting with one another.
